Pre/PostNatal Yoga

*This is also considered a PostNatal Yoga class. Please feel free to bring the baby right away or start your practice back with some time just for you.

PreNatal Vinyasa Yoga
(Appropriate for all 3 trimesters with Doctor’s approval to exercise.)
This class is designed for women who already have a strong yoga practice and who would like to continue it throughout their pregnancy. This is a vigorous class emphasizing breath and asanas that are designed to help ease common pregnancy discomforts, strengthen the muscles needed for labor & delivery and increase circulation for improved energy efficiency. A regular practice throughout pregnancy provides the ability to maintain or achieve a strong, flexible and centered body, mind and spirit in an ever changing physical form. Although yoga is a safe form of exercise for pregnant women, every woman’s body is different and requires attention and awareness during any exercise to ensure the body’s well being. Please obtain permission from your doctor, midwife or health provider before doing any prenatal exercise and most importantly, listen to your body.

I’ve enjoyed guiding numerous PreNatal Yoga classes for yoga studios, workshops for Google & You Tube, and private sessions before baby arrives. I’m currently volunteering my PreNatal Yoga services for the 2nd year for a program with pregnant teens, TAPP. PostNatal Yoga – Bring your baby! (Newborn to Pre-crawling)
Enjoy getting back into your yoga practice with your little one by your side (4-wks after vaginal & 6-wks after cesarean births). It will feel great to get out of the house to connect with women who also recently gave birth. Safely regain muscle-tone, strength and flexibility. Your baby will also benefit from being exposed to this pattern of dedication to exercise, relaxation, love and happiness. During class, you are invited to tend to your baby at any time. When appropriate, you’ll learn a little bit of baby yoga and infant massage too!
